For many of us, travel is about personal growth and discovering who we are. That was certainly true for Maryline Anna Roux. Raised in France, she knew very little about her past. Born in Côte d'Ivoire, she learned she had left her birthplace at just one year old through an arrangement in which her French father gave her African grandparents a rifle and a sewing machine. Believing she had been traded and abandoned by her birth mother, Maryline set out on an emotional journey to uncover the truth about her origins.
